Leaning on Jesus

I ask that you pray for me this next week. I leave tomorrow for Sumter, SC to speak at the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast Thursday, the National Day of Prayer. Then I go to Arvada, CO to speak at a Mother’s Day event for Faith Bible Chapel. On Saturday I leave CO to go to Portland, OR and over to Vancouver, WA to speak at John Bishop’s church, Living Hope for the 4 services Saturday and Sunday. I have some meetings scheduled out there on Monday and Tuesday and get to come home Wednesday.

Pray for Greg that he will be able to manage well, not be too lonesome. He does have his adoring Boston Terrier, Molly, to keep him company and my assistant comes in every day but Saturday and Sunday. I have put food up in the freezer and most things are taken care of. I try to anticipate his needs but sometimes I can’t anticipate them all.

I’ll have one week home when I will handle his medical appointments and a few of my own. Then I am off to Mackinac Island to speak at a Winsome Women retreat. That is a real treat to be able to stay at The Grand Hotel – a Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour movie was filmed there: Somewhere in Time. It is a very lovely spot and will no, doubt, be chilly. I’ll be there with my sweet friend, Thelma Wells.

Full days to be sure and I really ask for prayers for my stamina, health and joy as I meet folks and share what God is teaching me. One thing He has been showing me lately is this whole idea of leaning on Him.  When I get very stressed, I take a deep breath, close my eyes and just lean back in my chair or in my mind and imagine physically leaning into Him. It has been very helpful for me. Like a mini-vacation. Try it! And let me  know how it goes for you!
