World View

What is your worldview? You know the sum total of your beliefs about the world. Chuck Colson called it the “big picture that directs our daily decisions.” What is yours? Do you know? Do you have one?

Whether we know it or not we all have a world view. In our country it is either “theism” or “humanism.”

How would what you believe about life,

relationships,

money,

time,

how you use your time,

how you make decisions

fit into theism? Or humanism?

I am a theist. I believe God is in charge. I believe He is the Creator of all things and controls all things. I believe He is trustworthy, holy and good. I believe He longs for relationship with his creatures. So much so that He, the Infinite One, entered into time and space to become like us. We are separated from Him because of our fallen nature so He bridged that gap by dying in our stead, shedding His blood, so that we could be restored to His family. He rose back to life and claimed us as His own! He redeemed us.  And one day He will present those us who trust Him to His Father as perfect and without fault! Amen.

That’s my world view.

I do not believe I control my own destiny or that I am self sufficient. I do not believe I will become better and better by reason or ability of my own. I do not put much stock in human reasoning to perfect this world.

“My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness…His oath His covenant, His blood support me in the whelming flood; When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay.”
